CareerBuilder, LLC and its subsidiaries and divisions (collectively, “CareerBuilder”, “We”, “Our” or “Us”) provide web-based recruitment software services, including this site, to employer customers. CareerBuilder operates this site on behalf of the employer customer whose career and employment opportunities are available on this site (the “Employer Customer”). If you are an employee or job applicant using Our web-based recruitment software services via an Employer Customer established in Europe or if the Employer Customer or the site is otherwise subject to Directive 95/46/EC or Directive 2002/58/EC as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC in each case as implemented into the laws of any EU Member State (collectively “EU Data Protection Laws”), then for the purposes of such EU Data Protection Laws the Employer Customer is the data controller of your Personal Information processed by Us and We are a data processor on behalf of the Employer Customer.
Information that you enter into this site is subject to the Employer Customer’s privacy policy and CareerBuilder is not responsible for the Employer Customer’s use of your information. You should review the privacy policy of the Employer Customer to ensure that you are comfortable with how it intends to use and disclose your information including when using Our web-based recruitment software services.
CareerBuilder has drafted this Privacy Policy to ensure that you can clearly understand CareerBuilder’s data and security practices and policies as you use this site. However, the Employer Customer is responsible for the collection and use of your Personal Information, so if you have any questions or concerns about the way in which your Personal Information is collected and used, please contact the Employer Customer directly.
This Privacy Policy describes (i) the types of Personal Information we collect or receive; (ii) how we use that information; and (iii) with whom we share it, in each case solely as we are instructed to do so by Our Employer Customer as their data processor. This Privacy Policy also describes the choices you can make about the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information. The phrase “Personal Information” refers to information that identifies you, such as your name, address, telephone number and email address. We also describe the measures we take to protect the security of your Personal Information as defined by EU Data Protection Laws. To the extent permitted by applicable law, when you visit this site or provide us with information, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy, in each case solely as we are instructed to do so by Our Employer Customer as their data processor.
Please review this Privacy Policy periodically as we may be instructed by the Employer Customer to update it from time to time without prior notice to reflect changes to the way your Personal Information is processed by Us on behalf of the Employer Customer. We will post a prominent notice on the site to notify you of any significant changes to our Privacy Policy and indicate on the notice when it was most recently updated. If we are instructed by the Employer Customer to make material changes to the policy that will affect previously collected Personal Information, you will be notified and asked to consent to the updated Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect on behalf of the Employer Customer
We may obtain information about you when you use this site. We also may obtain information about you from the Employer Customer.
The types of Personal Information we obtain include:
- Your Personal Information, if you choose to provide it or if we obtain it from the Employer Customer.
- Username and password for the account you may establish on this site (if an account feature is available on this site).
- Your demographic information (such as postal code, occupation, education and experience, and if you choose to provide it and its collection is not limited or prohibited by applicable law, age, gender and nationality). We may collect this information through the registration process, from your CV or from the Employer Customer.
- Job search behavior and preferences, and a record of the searches that you make on this site (if a job search feature is available on this site). We do this in order to present you with job recommendations from the Employer Customer based on your interests as expressed previously through your searches.
- Other details that you may submit to us or that may be included in the information provided to us by the Employer Customer.
We collect information stored in your social media profile that you authorize us to access when you use your social media profile (if a social media login feature is available on this site) to enact certain functionalities on this site, such as the ability to pre-populate a registration form or a job application.
We also gather information relevant to your career history and job applications from publicly available sources, including social media sites, and provide a summary report of this information to the Employer Customer.
With respect to information you provide on this site, if you, your Personal Data, the Employer Customer or the site are subject to applicable EU Data Protection Laws or other law that limits or prohibits the collection or processing of “sensitive personal data” (as described thereunder) or information such as age or gender as it relates to employment opportunities, you agree to refrain from providing such information to the site and you accept that CareerBuilder will not be in any way liable for unlawful collection or processing of such information. Furthermore, you agree to hold CareerBuilder harmless and indemnify CareerBuilder for any damage arising from the collection or processing of such information.
In addition, when you visit this site, we collect certain information by automated means, such as cookies and web beacons, as described in more detail below. The information we may collect by automated means includes:

As the data processor of the Employer Customer, We are authorized to use the Personal Information we obtain about you, in each case on behalf of the Employer Customer, to:
- Register, manage and maintain your account on this site (if an account feature is available on this site).
- Maintain a record of the jobs you view or apply to on this site.
- Inform you of relevant job postings from the Employer Customer that may be of interest to you.
- Provide administrative notices or communications applicable to your use of this site.
- Respond to your questions and comments and provide customer support.
- Operate, evaluate and improve our business and the products and services we offer.
- Analyze and enhance our marketing communications and strategies (including by identifying when emails we have sent to you have been received and read).
- Analyze trends and statistics regarding visitors’ use of this site and the jobs viewed or applied to on this site.
- Protect against and prevent fraud, unauthorized transactions, claims and other liabilities, and manage risk exposure, including by identifying potential hackers and other unauthorized users.
- Comply with applicable legal requirements and industry standards and our policies.
We also use non-personally identifiable information and certain technical information about your computer and your access of this site (including your internet protocol address) in order to operate, maintain and manage this site. We collect this information by automated means, such as cookies and web beacons, as described in more detail below[A4] and will not link this information to your identity.

INFORMATION WE SHARE ON BEHALF OF THE EMPLOYER CUSTOMER
As indicated above, CareerBuilder operates this site on behalf of the Employer Customer. As such, when you register with this site or apply for a job through this site, your Personal Information is available to the Employer Customer who may use your information to contact you directly. The information supplied by you is stored by CareerBuilder on a dedicated database on behalf of the Employer Customer. In addition, the Employer Customer may store the information supplied by you on other databases not operated by CareerBuilder. The use of your information by the Employer Customer will be subject to the privacy policy of the Employer Customer, and CareerBuilder is not responsible for the Employer Customer’s use of your information. You should review the privacy policy of the Employer Customer to ensure that you are comfortable with how it intends to use and disclose your information.
The Employer Customer will receive reports that contain non-personally identifiable information about this site.
Additionally, we may combine certain non-personally identifiable Aggregate Data about the users of this site and other sites that we operate and use such anonymous Aggregate Data to prepare reports and in other commercial applications available to our customers (typically employers or educators). “Aggregate Data” is the demographic information (such as postal code, age, gender and nationality) and employment information (such as occupation, education and experience) of many individuals that is combined together. Aggregate Data is used to analyze the characteristics of various populations and does not identify any specific individuals. For example, an employer may purchase a report from CareerBuilder that states the number of accountants with at least five years’ experience that live within a certain geographic area. All such reports only contain Aggregate Data that cannot be used to identify any individuals.
We also may share Personal Information with our service providers who help us in the delivery of our products and services to the Employer Customer. These service providers may only use or disclose the information as necessary to perform services on our behalf or as otherwise required by law.
CareerBuilder is also authorized by the Employer Customer to disclose specific user information when We determine, in good faith, that such disclosure is necessary to comply with the applicable law, to cooperate with or seek assistance from law enforcement, to prevent a crime or protect national security, or to protect the interests or safety of CareerBuilder or other users of this site.
In addition, Personal Information we have collected may be passed on to a third party in the event of a transfer of ownership or assets or a bankruptcy or other corporate reorganization of CareerBuilder. However, in these circumstances the Employer Customer will remain responsible for the processing of your Personal Information as the data controller and will seek your prior written consent if required.

We and Our service providers are authorized as data processor acting on behalf of the Employer Customer to process and store your Personal Information outside of the country in which you are located, including in the United States. The countries in which we (or our service providers) process the information may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you are located. Further, the Employer Customer also may be located in a different country than you and different laws may apply to their use of your information.
CareerBuilder, LLC complies with the U.S.-EU Safe Harbor Framework and the U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information from European Union member countries and Switzerland. How We Protect Personal Information
CareerBuilder maintains administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to assist us in protecting the Personal Information we collect on behalf of each Employer Customer against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use.
Please note that no electronic transmission of information can be entirely secure. We cannot guarantee that the security measures we have in place to safeguard Personal Information will never be defeated or fail, or that those measures will always be sufficient or effective. Therefore, although we are committed to protecting your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your Personal Information will always remain private. As a user of this site, you understand and agree that you assume all responsibility and risk for your use of this site, the internet generally, and the documents you post or access and for your conduct on and off this site.
To further protect yourself, you should safeguard your user name and password for this site (if this feature is available on this site) and not share that information with anyone.
